Entre espiões e segredos: uma história comparada nos serviços secretos Anglo-Americano durante a II Guerra Mundial

Resumo

Este artigo tem o objetivo de apresentar aspectos da organização e do funcionamento dos serviços de inteligência e espionagem britânico e norte-americano durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial. Tais serviços foram empreendidos por três órgãos: o Secret Intelligence Service (SIS ou MI6), o Special Operations Executive (SOE), ambos da Inglaterra, surgidos em 1909 e 1940, respectivamente, e o norte-americano o Office Of Strategic Services (OSS), nascido em 1941. Para isso utilizaremos como aporte metodológico a História Comparada na perspectiva de Marc Bloch ao analisarmos sociedades análogas, próximas no tempo e no espaço para encontrarmos dessemelhanças e influências mútuas na atuação de ambos os serviços secretos. Assim, neste texto analisaremos manuais e livretos desenvolvidos por estas agências no treinamento de agentes secretos para atuarem nos teatros de operações do conflito, empreendendo atividades de inteligência e operações especiais e clandestinas para auxiliar os Aliados contra o Eixo.

Abstract: This text has the purpose of presenting some aspects of the organization and operation of the intelligence and espionage services British and American during World War II. This activies were practiced for two British institutions, the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS or MI6) and the Special Operations Executive (SOE), both born in 1909 and 1940 respectively, and the American Office Of Strategic Services (OSS), that emerged in 1941. For this we use the ideas of Marc Bloch about Comparative History to find similarities and differences between these two societies and their espionage services. Therefore, we analyze manuals and booklets developed by these agencies in training secret agents to operate in the theaters of conflict operations, engaging in intelligence and special and clandestine operations to assist the Allies against the Axis.
