A PARTICIPAÇÃO DA MARINHA DO BRASIL NAS OPERAÇÕES DE PAZ NO LÍBANO (UNIFIL)

Resumo

Este texto pretende abordar alguns aspectos político-estratégicos e sociológicos da presença da Marinha do Brasil (MB) nas operações da paz, especificamente na Força Interina das Nações Unidas no Líbano (UNIFIL), em nome da sua missão, preparo e emprego no plano internacional. Estas operações foram iniciadas pelo mandato estabelecido em 1978 e, desde 2011 até 2018, oficiais navais brasileiros têm sido comandantes da Força Tarefa Marítima (FTM), em inglês, Maritime Task Force (MTF) da UNIFIL. Embora o Brasil tenha estado presente em diversas missões desta natureza com a participação dos militares brasileiros, tais atividades na UNIFIL se revestiram de um aspecto peculiar para a MB, que foram construídos para justificar a imagem nacional e internacional de sua presença no Líbano. Apresentamos alguns aspectos desta operação fazendo uma leitura do ethos militar-naval, com base na concepção social e politica do pensamento bouerdisiano e da interpretação da sociologia organizacional da profissão militar, relacionadas à reflexão de alguns autores nacionais e estrangeiros que trataram do tema das missões de paz. Neste sentido, mencionamos razões e questões que podem ser pensadas sobre o propósito do Brasil e sua Marinha na percepção e legitimação de sua identidade presença na UNIFIL.

Abstract: This text intends to address some political-strategic and sociological aspects of the presence of the Brazilian Navy (MB) in peace operations, specifically in the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL), in the name of its mission, preparation and employment at the international level. . These operations were initiated by the mandate established in 1978 and, from 2011 to 2018, Brazilian naval officers have been commanders of UNIFIL's Maritime Task Force (MTF). Although Brazil has been present in several missions of this nature with the participation of the Brazilian military, such activities at UNIFIL had a peculiar aspect for the MB, which were constructed to justify the national and international image of its presence in Lebanon. We present some aspects of this operation by reading the military-naval ethos, based on the social and political conception of Bouerdisian thought and the interpretation of the organizational sociology of the military profession, related to the reflection of some national and foreign authors who dealt with the theme of military missions. peace. In this sense, we mention reasons and questions that can be thought about the purpose of Brazil and its Navy in the perception and legitimization of its identity and presence in UNIFIL.
