A COOPERAÇÃO EM SEGURANÇA E DEFESA NA AMÉRICA DO SUL A PARTIR DE 2016: DESAFIOS E PERSPECTIVAS.

Resumo

Resumo: Neste artigo visamos realizar uma análise dos processos de cooperação em segurança e defesa na América do Sul desde o ano de 2016. Assim, a pergunta que norteia este estudo é: como as mudanças políticas que ocorreram nos níveis global e regional a partir de 2016 impactam os processos de cooperação em segurança e defesa na América do Sul após este ano? Partimos da hipótese de que os processos regionais de cooperação em segurança e defesa foram perdendo relevância dentro da agenda política dos países sul-americanos nos últimos anos, havendo o aumento das tensões e das desconfianças entre os países da região, o esvaziamento da agenda de segurança autônoma construída ao longo dos primeiros anos do século XXI e a retomada da agenda securitária estadunidense para a América do Sul.

Abstract: In this article we aim to carry out an analysis of the cooperation processes in security and defense in South America since the year 2016. So, the question that guides this study is: how the political changes that occurred at the global and regional levels since 2016 impact security and defense cooperation processes in South America after this year? We start from the hypothesis that the regional processes of cooperation in security and defense have been losing relevance within the political agenda of the South American countries in recent years, with the increase of tensions and mistrust between the countries of the region, the emptying of the autonomous security agenda built during the first years of the 21st century and the resumption of the American security agenda for South America.
